Rug piece: Playing with the process of rug-making, dying the ‘back’ and letting the stitches be as part of the work and on show. Framing the piece, with the ‘waste’ wool that is from the floor after using the rug gun, bringing the rug into the space as sculpture rather than 2D.
Banner piece: Making a commemorative banner for the event. Giving textiles an informing and decorative power to give meaning to those usually ‘humble’ ‘craft’ processes and materials, to celebrate - collaboration with using Hannah Dinsdale’s fabrics.
