I’m interested in colour and how it is attached to memory, the ways in which it can both forge and summon an environment. When I see a colour that makes a strong impression on me I try and commit it
to memory and this always relates to a place and to a story, and the intimacy of that observation. There are always figures and stories buried deep inside of my painting. I pull these narratives from my personal experiences and the experiences of those that I observe around me.

Taylor Davies-King

Taylor Davies-King (born 1994) is a British artist who lives and works between Essex and London. She graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2017 with a First Class Degree in Fine Art where she also attended the Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) in Den Haag. Davies-King is known for integrating contrasting disciplines into a single work which often crosses the boundaries of writing, sculpture, painting and works on paper.
